Dr. Bhaben Choudhury pursued his medical education at Guwahati University, where he earned his MBBS, MS in Otolaryngology (ENT), and a PhD. His dedication to his craft led him to further specialization, and he obtained a Fellowship from the International College of Surgeons (FICS) at Chicago, Indian section.

Throughout his career, Dr. Choudhury has honed his expertise in various areas of medical practice, particularly in Microsurgery, Laser Surgery, and Head and Neck Cancer Surgery. These specialized skills have been instrumental in enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes.

He has been a dedicated member of the All Assam Students Union (AASU) since 1969 and has actively participated in significant movements and demands within the organization. Additionally, he has been an esteemed member of the Lions Club since 1989, holding the position of Cabinet Secretary at its highest level.
Dr. Choudhury is also a dedicated member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) since 2013, and he has played a crucial role in the party's workings. Presently, he serves as the State President of Assam and is a National Council member representing the state.
